Bloomsburg PA. — CCI completed a ten-week emergency dewatering and mold remediation project at a major automotive component manufacturer. The project was necessary due to a river flood leaving the facility flooded with four feet of water as well as the infestation of mold. The flood not only rendered the facility inoperable, but also several customer facilities depending on the delivery of the automotive floor liners produced.
The complex was an approximately one million square foot manufacturing facility situated approximated two hundred yards from the Susquehanna River in Bloomsburg Pennsylvania.
CCI was awarded the contract due to competitive pricing, proven ability to provide quality service, and a good relationship with the manufacturer and their customers resulting from past successful projects.
The assignment included the pumping of approximately four million gallons of river water and vacuum clean up, treating the affected areas with a hospital grade mold killing disinfectant, and removal of affected building materials destroyed by water. Once the river water was removed, the entire facility and all the equipment were powerwashed.
After the initial assessment, logistics and scheduling of a thirty man crew and equipment were completed and mobilized the next day.
The CCI team had the facility operational in three weeks and continued to work around the clock for another seven weeks before completion. The treatment of affected areas continued until air sampling by a third party Certified Industrial Hygienist cleared the area of spore infestation.
CCI continues to receive contracts for other project work with the end goal of securing ongoing services in the near future.
